Lisa
Sherman is the Senior Vice President and General Manager for Logo, the new
ad-supported basic cable network for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT)
viewers. Sherman oversees all day-to-day production and operation of the network
and reports to Brian Graden, President, Entertainment, MTV Networks Music Group
and President, Logo.
As Senior Vice President and General Manager,
Sherman is responsible for the day-to-day leadership, strategy and management of
Logo, guiding the channel from a creative and branding standpoint. Prior to
this position, Sherman served as Senior Vice President and Group Account
Director at the New York office of Hill, Holliday Connors, Cosmopulos, part of
the Interpublic Group of Companies. There, she led the effort to identify and
stimulate new business opportunities for the New York office, while serving as
the Account Director for several key clients including AOL Media Networks,
American Red Cross and Sallie Mae.
Earlier in her career, Sherman served as an
executive at Verizon Communications, where she held a number of senior level
marketing, advertising and operating positions across 17 years. As the Vice
President for Brand Management and Advertising, she directed and implemented
Verizon’s advertising, sponsorship and promotions programs, including strategic
advertising plans for all Verizon lines of business. In addition, she
co-founded the Women’s Sports Network, Inc., a marketing services company
specializing in the management and marketing of sports, entertainment and
promotions for Fortune 100 companies wanting to reach teens, women and families,
through their passion for sports.
Sherman recently joined the board of directors of
LIFEbeat: The Music Industry Fights AIDS. LIFEbeat is dedicated to reaching
America’s youth with the message of HIV/AIDS prevention. She is a board member
of the New York City-based organization God’s Love We Deliver, whose mission is
to alleviate hunger and malnutrition in men, women and children living with
HIV/AIDS or other serious illnesses by preparing and delivering meals to those
unable to provide for themselves. She is also a former executive committee
board member of the Human Rights Campaign.
Lisa is a cum laude graduate of Dickinson College. She participated in the Johnson
Graduate School of Management Executive Program at Cornell University and the
Center for Telecommunications Management Executive Program at the University of
Southern California. She currently resides in New York City with her partner
Sophie Dagenais.
